I really want to make a crumpled paper look to some of my creations. Is there a tutorial out there somewhere? I would love to figure out how to make it a texture that I can use as an action or something like that. I was told once that all you do is lay a scan or picture of crumpled paper over everything and adjust opacity but it just doesn't give me the same look that I've seen created before.

Thanks!
Holli

The way I create textures would go like this:

*scan your crumpled paper

*run the high pass filter on your image (filter>other>high pass)

*bump up the contrast a bit

*save as a .psd file

*then open the paper you want to texturize

*go to > filter>texture>texturizer>then in the drop down choose "load texture"

*browse for your saved .psd file and load it

* adjust scale

See if that works for you! I don't even have a scanner, this works with just photos of textures too! :)

i just layer it (the crumpled scan copy) on top of papers and play with my blend modes until I like the look!

I use ATomic Cupcake's Crumple Action (http://www.atomiccupcake.com/item.php?id=000019).
