ISO of a point and shoot camera.....

not too expensive. I want to get the best bang for my buck in the $300 or under price range. Any suggestions?

ETA: I should have said I'd like something more "throw it in the purse" type of thing. Compact. I have a dslr now and I love it, but I'd like a more compact one to just "grab and go" when I don't want to take the dslr with me. :)

It's a little bit over your budget ($330 at B&H) but the Fuji F30 is probably the most highly rated P&S at the moment by dSLR users due to its low light ability. You could probably pick up its predecessors (F11, or even the F10) at a bargain price if some places still have them in stock - I know my local store had the F11 the last time I was in there (a couple weeks ago) for about half price.

I just bought a P&S and for the exact reason you are looking at one. I have a monstrous Canon SLR and would love to pack it everywhere with me, but it's just not feasible.

I ended up buying the Canon PowerShot SD500 Digital Elph, and it actually takes pretty good pictures. I got a fantastic deal at Dell for this, believe it or not, from watching the ads at:

I don't see this particular camera here right now, but there is a Canon PowerShot on this list, just a tad smaller than the one I listed above.

I have the Pentax Optio WP - the waterproof one. It does a fabulous job for a P&S. I ALWAYS carry it in my purse... ALWAYS! I love it.

With no optical veiwfinder, do you have any issues in bright sunlight? I'm thinking you'd get a lot of glare on the LCD?

I don't have one myself (don't have any) but I've never used an optical viewfinder on a P&S - way too small! I've never noticed any problems when I did have a P&S, but I had Sonys and their LCDs tend to be very good. I haven't read complaints about the Fuji screen though.
