I'm about 99% sure i am getting one of these, but i want to make sure i know *all* the things I can do with this so I know it is a valid purchase.

Does it make your artwork less pixelly? like if I doodle with my mouse it has rough edges and is pixelly/jagged sometimes..... does this prevent that???

I can just tell you one thing:

EVERYTHING

I use my pen for doing everything, including navigating now. I don't use a mouse at all...the pen just gives me SO much more control, I totally, totally love it!!

Yep, just save yourself some time ... go buy one now and then come back later today to see all of the wonderful things people say about them.
(You will already have it and can PLAY immediately!) LOL!

Actually, I love using it to "ink" the edges of stuff. I use a ragged brush with wet edges and turn the opacity down a bit. I pick a color and swoosh away. It's SOOOOO FUN!

I also love the mouse that comes with them. (I have a 6x9 Intuos). The mouse has extra buttons on the side (right and left) that are for "back" and "forward" browsing the net. SO COOL!

The pen takes some practice. I didn't have any trouble, but I have heard that some people put a piece of paper on their tablet to help them get the "feel".

Best wishes!

I use it as a mouse (both the puck and the pen). Much more ergonomic than a regular mouse!

I use it to edit my photos mainly - esp great for the clone tool and getting nice smooth edges. With the mouse it was choppy. I'm aspiring to be a photographer (just starting a buiness in the next coming year) and the tablet has been soooooo useful with the PS work. It was so tedious before. I think I use it more for that then my scrapbooking stuff.

I use it to doodle and draw and write things on my layouts.

Oh and I used it to get PSE, which I then used to get an upgrade discount on PSCS2!! So, I got a little deal with my PS/Wacom "package"!! LOL

Oh and I am also adding that my DH convinced me to get the big (9x12) sized tablet. I'm pretty sure you won't need one that big. I don't really use all the space.

thanks for the input!

I got a 4x5 and really like the size so far!

The tablet is great but I'm pretty sure it won't make things less pixelated. Unless of course you use it to make vector shapes which aren't pixel based. Have fun!

1 - everything
2 - everything
3 - everything

you get the point...

i hated it! hated it! now, i love it - and ONLY use it - for everything. mousing, drawing, etc. I don't even own a mouse now!

MAKE YOURSELF USE IT - hide the mouse!

I've had mine for six months and I'm totally frustrated. The only thing I've found that I can do well with it is doodle. Please, folks, can you give me some specifics? Mine was a gift from my husband and I think his feelings are hurt that I don't use it more often.
Also, are any of you using it for journaling? If so, are you using a pen or brush?

holly, I took my mouse and put it in my laptop bag, I've used only this pen since I bought it 15 hours ago! :)

It is growing on me! It will take time....

my #1 issue is that I don't know what to do with the pen while I type if I'm not at a desk.... like right now I'm sitting on a couch and so I don't have anywhere to put the pen except to hold it in my mouth....

kinda an expensive pen to chew on ;)

My tablet has a place at the top where I can lay the pen down? I scrap in the living room too - I got one of those "as seen on TV" adjustable tables for mothers day - its just big enough for my laptop and tablet and I love not having my laptop in my lap!

I am a HUGE tablet fan also!
it really saves my wrists and there is so much you can do with it.
Think of it as another tool and you can justify the purchase... not just for doodles! :) i mean how well does that go over at your house
UM Dear? Can I buy this thing so I can doodle LOL
OR
I need a precision tool to use for my designs!

:) no, not a paid rep but I should be!

lcbannon, I kept the wrapper on mine and cut a slit to store the pen in the pen slot.

It isn't Klassy looking, but oh well! LOL! I maydevelop another plan later! :)
