I searched for the answer to this question, but wasn't satisfied. I have a lot of layouts that I designed thinking that I would print them out individually and place in an album. They are designed right to the edge on purpose...like this one:
![]() But now...I have a nice coupon or two to Shutterfly and I'm thinking about ordering an 100 page 8x8 album of dd's first year. Clearly, if I left those sort of pages as is, they will get cropped. So...the question is, what to do about this problem without it looking like an afterthought? Would adding a 1/4" white border around each LO take care of that problem? I don't want any of the white to show. I bought Wendyzine's template and plan to use that, but I'm still not sure what I should do.

I know I received my 8X8 album and some of the text felt off that was on the edge, and I did use the templates from shutterfly itself.
Now I have no clue if a white border would fix that exactly, or what size it would be I know I was pretty bummed that letters felt off, but I blaim myself for not looking good enough. I hope somebody else can give the correct answer following as well.

Could you maybe resize them with a bit of a boarder around them? I know on this one it would be a little odd with the kids so close to the edge. Maybe redo the photos on it and include more of the photo? I'm running into these kinds of issues too.

I would just print them elsewhere so it wouldnt be an issue.

I received an 'elsewhere' album today.....i'm terribly sad I didnt go with Shutterfly for this album. Since I wasnt aware of both qualities I ordered 1 at shutterfly, an 8x8 scrapbook album since I had won a free coupon, and I ordered another album at Mypix. The shutterfly album was 20 pages from our anniversairy party, and the kids, perfect, so pretty, awesome really worth it, and it was delivered within a week to the Netherlands. On the exact same day I ordered my Egypt album 64 pages, received today, 2 and halve weeks later, it's ugly, high gloss, there was no way to pick the paper, the cover is a folded around paper with 2 small sized prints. and it was more expensive also some edge loss, WITHOU it being notified on the site itself!!! Imagine this printcompany is a LOT closer to my home then shutterfly.... I can recommend shutterfly books to everyone, fast, pretty, gorgeous and awesome as long as you be aware of the edges!!!!

you can download a template from shutterfly. and it will show you your crop lines, then you can adjust to the croplines for each layout...
