Default My daughter just got engaged!

.....and even though the wedding won't be for more than a year (next summer), I'm thinking ahead. I'd love to hear your ideas for anything wedding related that I can do- scrap or digi-scrap or non-scrap related. I will probably do the invitations, and could use some ideas for table favors, placecards, anything like that. Thanks!!

Congratulations! Target and Walmart carry great invitation kits now that allow you to design and print your own.

I just saw a bunch of invitation kits at Michael's the other day when I was there, too. They have this whole scrapbook-esque "Brides" line (affiliated with the magazine, I assume) where you go nuts a la carte with papers, embellishments, etc.

You could always embellish a guest book? Or make little hybrid folded boxes or bags for the table favors? Maybe you should just get started NOW. LOL

As far as scrap related things go, I did the invites, programs, place cards, card box, and save-the-dates for our wedding. You can see the invites I did in this thread.

Let's see what else I can dig up pictures of

I didn't make this (ran out of time so I ordered them off of eBay). They are just plain white address labels and then we stuck them to Hershey nuggets and scattered them on the tables.

Here's what I did for place cards. They looked really nice all lined up at the beginning of the night.

This was my card box. I used a whole bunch of different sized paper mache boxes and modge podged scrapbook paper and ribbon to them. The cards fell all the way down in to the bottom box and after the wedding we just had to cut the ribbon around the bottom box to open it.

And here's what we used for save-the-dates.

Congratulations to your daughter!! Have fun with your planning!

Wow Sandy- These are wonderful ideas! What did you use for those placecard holders? I'm definitely going to look into the address label/candy idea. I love the card box. That's something I can do way ahead of time too! Thanks for these great ideas. I did the invites for my other daughter's wedding 4 years ago but it was a lot of work. I think if I get organized and get started early I'll be ok.

I used small frames to hold the placecards - these ones actually.
