I have the Epson Artisan 810 it's a couple years old and I've had no issues with it.

For those of you who are going through ink have you considered a CISS? -Continuous Ink Supply System-. I purchased one recently and am happy with the results so far. No problems at all, I've compared the quality of print to other photos printed off and find no difference in them, no bleeding leaking or any other problems.

The one I purchased and would recommend is from LJHent, great customer service, he will answer any questions you have upfront and very good instruction on how to install the product.

I'm not in any way affliated with his business just a happy customer.

For my particular model I did have to slightly alter the printer which will void your warranty. My particular printer is out of the warranty phase so I thought it was worth a shot. In all honesty if I have to buy another printer I would do this immediately as it will save me money on the ink and that would balance out any future purchase if needed.

Anyway here is his website: LJHent CISS

I have a Lexmark x6675. Nice printer, but it acts weird. Every now and then it forgets it is on the network and I unplug and plug it back in to see if it can find the network. When it works correctly, it is wonderful, but I must admit, it is more trouble than it is worth at times. Also, wireless are not good at large documents, and they will hang up.

Well, we ended up getting an HP Officejet 8600 all-in-one. Haven't installed it yet, have to rearrange the room to make space for it! I'll let ya'll know what we think!

I've had a wireless HP wide format printer for less than a year - I just took it into the repair guys because it started making a dreadful screeching noise - now it is completely dead The wireless has never worked right from DH's computer either which is a bit of a pain.

A quick tip... We assigned the printer to a static IP address (something done during the initial setup process) and that fixed the wireless issues so far. Our systems can all now find it even when it's asleep.

We use an old printer that isn't wireless, but I've got it set up to share on the windows 7 home group. I can print to it from my laptop just like it was wireless. I hate buying printers! The ink is always so expensive and I'm never happy with the print quality. Maybe I have to save up for a laser printer?

I have a color laser printer and it's very weird compared to the ink jet.

The print comes out like a magazine page - very shiny. You have to use special paper that is really smooth or it doesn't look right. Once having said that, there are classes online to show you how to change the printing to use something more porous like cardstock, but it uses a LOT of ink. Mine has 4 cartridges at they are $80.00 each...I don't need to use anything more porous, LOL!
I can't stop a print process once it's started - I have to turn off the printer, then go in to the printer (devices and printers) and manually stop the print process or as soon as I turn the printer back on it will start printing the pages I thought I had stopped!

You also can't use all those cool rubons or transparencies or whatever it is that you can iron on to furniture and t-shirts.

One final thing, though, and the reason this printer is so cheap for me to run is that the ink never dries out. I used to throw away nearly new cartridges because I didn't print that much or that often, but the laser uses powder that never dries out and I have saved a lot of money in the 15 years I've had a laser printer. Plus the text is very crisp. I could print a piece of crap manuscript and people think it's a masterpiece because it looks so different from what they're used to seeing. (Similar to when we went from dot matrix printers to vector based fonts.)

I have a color laser printer and it's not wireless, but it has networking... So, my husband has it's networking cord going to a wireless router, and it has it's own mac address... Works just like wireless- any one can print from any where in the house. That's important around here because we have 5 desktops and a laptop, which might be a little bit overkill for just the 3 of us... lol...

Huggles!!
