I noticed in my download after purchase of CS6 there are options to open PS CS6 regular and an option to open in 64-bit also available for bridge. What is the difference and do I need one more than the other? Just curious.
Thanks. |

I use the 64bit version - it should run faster as it can access more RAM

From my tech genius hubby:
__________________64 bit can run faster if you have a 64 bit operating system. The quickest way to check is to right click on my computer and hit properties. Under system type it will say 64 bit or 32 bit. That would be different for Macs obviously, so he says it would have to be OS 10 and an intel processor, you have 64 bit and are good to go!! Many action makers haven't made actions for 64 bit or haven't upgraded their older actions so I don't usually use the 64bit option since I do use a lot of actions. In fact now that I have CS6 I have a lot more of my stuff that doesn't work with the new version of CS so I have two versions running on my computer. CS5 had some upgrades but CS6 has upgraded a lot to the point that I have to run two versions.

Some filters will only run in the 32 bit version, so it is a good idea to have both installed
__________________ The 64 bit runs faster and is great except if you have some 32 bit plug-ins. If you have both installed you can switch if needed from one to the other.
