Default Photoshop and Mac?

I have always worked on a regular PC program using Photoshop (varied versions). We recently got a MAC, and I have Photoshop Elements installed. I cannot figure out how to organize my pictures and pull them into the Photoshop program from iPhoto.

When I connect my camera to the computer, iPhoto automatically pulls the photos in. I honestly am not sure where they are located in my computer!

Anyway, when I want to drag a photo from iPhoto into Photoshop Elements, it does not work. The picture is just a blur of lines. The only way that it works is if it is a picture that was taken from my iPhone.

I did try to put a picture onto my desktop and then bring it into Photoshop and it does work, so I don't think the problem is my camera or picture.
Has anyone else had any problems like this? I'm just not sure what to do-I really want to use my new computer for this!
Thanks!

The only way is to drag it out and put it on your desktop (don't ask me why ) . In regards to your question : where are they located in your computer ? Answer: there isn't any specific folder where it is saved.. it is saved in PICTURES -> IPHOTO ... I don't think it's an issue.. i guess we just gotta drag the photos out on the desktop and open it on photoshop..

You can make a folder/folders for your photos and drag a photo from iPhoto directly to the folder. If you have lots of folders and photos you can then use Bridge to see everything you have in your folders or you can open your folder and use the view in the top menu bar. If you go to the 4th view box and click on it it will allow you to see what is in the folder. I find that more convenient when hunting for a particular item or photo.

All you have to do is when you choose open, you will see a screen where you can navigate to the photo. Look all the way to the left where it says Applications, Desktop, Documents, ect. Scroll down until you see Media and click on Photos. Your entire iPhoto Library will pop up. You can look by event, album, face, ect. Easy peasy.
