Default Where do you find customers?

Where do you find customers to scrap for, both in real life and online? How do you market yourself?

Aren't there successful S4H business owners out there? I've seen websites for it. I decided to do it myself a year ago, but marketing is my downfall.

If you want to sell something you put your business name out there wherever your potential customers hang out. But where is that for people who might be interested in having me scrap for them? Maybe it's everywhere? Because all kinds of people might have pictures they'd like in an album.

If anyone has tips on marketing for s4h, please share. Also, I'm wondering if your business is only online or only local and in person. I was thinking of doing both.

Michele, most of my scrapping or photo restoration for others has been just word of mouth. But then again, I've not tried to promote myself for more work.
Good luck with your new venture.

Michelle, maybe start thinking of a little niche for that. Ask yourself who would want to get their scrapbook done? try to connect with some places like photo stores, wedding/party planners, vacation planners. Check if there are some fairs around, like for weddings, holidays, crafts, etc. Maybe those places could be a good start.

How about connecting with some local photographers? Or offer some kind of specialty albums for scouts, pets, events, etc?

So what are some ways to do cross promoting with local photographers? Like would you just ask if they could put a sample book on their waiting room table? I would like to approach some photographers but I want to know exactly what to say. I did have a booth at a local trade show. Several people said this was a great idea for a business.
