Question What Would You Recommend?

I want to help an online friend learn digital scrapbooking, but I've no idea of her level of computer savviness and I think her budget is low.

What would you recommend for a software and sites for learning?

I'm a longtime digital scrapper (2008) turned designer (2010), now mostly inactive due to disability so I'm not up to date on what's popular now, nor what's available...(can Adobe Elements still be purchased off-the-shelf?)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Adobe Photoshop Elements can still be purchased with the disk. You might find someone with an old version somewhere that is willing to sell cheaply or give it away.
My Memories is very reasonably priced.
GIMP is free.
and one can even scrap with Microsoft Office Word.

Paintshop Pro is another option. Inexpensive and one off purchase too. They often have sales.

I would definitely recommend My Memories Suite. It's an easy to use program with advanced features for later on. Great for the beginner or the more advanced user. I know this program inside out and absolutely love the new v7.

It's a direct download and they keep a copy in your account which you can download again any time. (no need to order the cd)
If you use this promo code you can take $10 off immediately and I would be happy to answer any questions, any time.

Promo code: STMMMS29686

Go for what you know. If you are familiar with Adobe Elements, let her buy an older version from someone. You can only help her with software you know. For Adobe Elements there are a lot of online courses and free tutorials for help. At my office I still work with version 5, and it still works fine. A newer version would be better of course...
