Default Best Place for Post Bound Albums???

Ok so I am so done with Michaels and their bait and switch! I bought a newspaper just to get a coupon to use on one of their K&Company Post Bound Scrapbooks to put my pages in, and when I got to the register, the sales lady said I couldn't use the coupon because the scrapbook was on sale (30% off instead of 50% with my coupon). I asked if I could just use the coupon on the regular price and she said they don't do that. ARGH! Seriously this is why I HATE shopping at Michaels, little stuff like that!!

Soooo.... Where do you all get your books? I want good quality, not one that will fall apart or has weird dimensions (the pages are not 12x12 but 11.5x12 etc). Simple cover is fine since these are just our everyday family albums. Oh and I need the refills easy to find since I usually put over 40 page protectors in a book.

Thanks in advance!!!

Nothing good is ever 50% off there, but I wait for the 40% off sales. I tried buying a leather album at Walmart because the price seemed too good to be true. It was a weird size and my pages didn't fit. So, back to Michaels I go. Sorry that I couldn't help.

They have always done that in the past. You could choose to use the coupon instead of the sales price. JoAnn's does it too. Maybe this is something new! They even take competitors coupons here!

Yeah, when she wouldn't take the coupon for the regular price that is when I walked out. I mean what is to stop them from putting anything on "sale" as 1% off and then won't take the coupon. This is why I say Bait and Switch!!

I went to Hobby Lobby today and used my 40% coupon. They don't have all the K&Company albums, but they do have their own brand, which are pretty basic, but also reasonably priced ($19 with 50 page protectors included regular price). And I did get the Thomas The Tank Engine album for DS#1 (OK so I caved on that one).

After I start assembing the Hobby Lobby brand one, I will give you an update on its quality and ease of use.

Well, I'm a Stampin Up demo, so my opinion is a bit biased, but I usually use only my Stampin UP albums for my scrapbooks. The only exception to this is if I'm doing a theme album and want a color to coordinate with the theme.... Otherwise, I'm pretty loyal to my black leather SU albums. They are true 12x12 and the page protectors are the sturdiest I've ever seen.

Sigh.....I love the K&Company albums, and can only find them at Michael's, but I've never seen them on sale and have been lucky to get them with the coupon. Michaels might be clearing out some of their stock right now, because the K&Company albums seemed to be sparse and picked over when I was there a week or so ago. I usually use my 40% off coupon for magazines that I don't have a subscription to since they're never on sale.

I have the same bias but towards Close to my Heart...lol. I won't get into an album war, just say to find yourself a local consultant for one company or the other and watch both for sales and specials. CTMH is also post-bound and true 12x12...both companies produce really high quality albums that won't be falling apart on you. When I got rid of my paper scrapping supplies I kept my albums!

LOL! What we don't what a sumo match of stamping company demonstrators?!! LOL, good points Kaylaugh BTW.

I actually was a "dealer" as my hubby called it for one of the two companies 5 years ago. NEVER AGAIN will I need another stamp or piece of cardstock LOL! But I didn't think about the albums (both were just starting to "focus" more on scrapping when I left). Do they really go on sale? Its been so long I can't remember!

I've got a while before I need another album since I just bought one at Hobby Lobby, but I need to plan for the future!
