Default How do I...

I want to take a piece of digi paper and turn it into a wavy line...where the wave is the same on top and bottom...does that make sense? It is like the very bottom piece of this layout but I want to be able to do it on top and bottom...Anyway, someone know of a tutorial that can help me with this? I am using Photoshop CS2.

What program do you use? If you use PSE I think there's a cookie cutter shape that will do it.

If you have PSE, have you tried to
1 select the area
2 Go to FILTER
3 Distort
4 Ripple
5 Shear
6 Grab the line and move it to get the wave.

Hope that helps you.

Geez I'm a designer and you'd think I'd know that - great tip

I have often wondered this too, but the last post made me think that you should be able to go to Edit, Transform, Warp. Basically do what mizamigo said, grab the line and move it to get the wave. Good luck!!

Or, if you don't want to make your own waves all the time you can buy some custom shapes (these are from Peppermint Creative). These are vector shapes that can be installed into PSE or Photoshop and can be enlarged as much as you want since they are vector-based (no fuzzy edges). BUT, .png files of each wave is also included (which are not vector-based).

In PSCS2, under Distort, go to Shear. Your paper has to be vertical for this to work. After you make the paper wavy, you can turn the curved paper to a horizontal direction. This is very easy to do because you can see the curve happening as you move the line.
