I was making a blog header shaped like an arrow, but when I save it as a .jpg file, it makes it a rectangle (the arrow, with a white rectangular background). How do I save it so that it keeps the arrow shape only?

You'll need to save it as a .png file to keep a transparent background.

If you're putting it on a blog, stick with a .gif. IE6 doesn't render .pngs with a transparent background so it will look funny in that browser if you try to use a .png file.

If you want use the arrow as a blog header, you will have to save it as a .jpg, as Kathy said. I suggest to use the same background colour as in your blog, so the background won’t be visible anymore once you’ve uploaded ithe picture.
