Default NSBR thomas the train

My son is crazy about trains! I din't have the money to go out and buy all things Thomas, but I am intrested in their TV shows/videos. At $10 a video, that seems a little high...do you now if they are still aired on PBS or a decent resale site?

Yes - we watch it on PBS and Sprout.

Not sure where you live - are you a Costco member? Around Christmas - they have gift packs ... 2 videos and a train (or 2) for $15 (somewhere around here).

The Sam's Club in our area still carries the videos with a free train...usually aroun 9 dollars for the video and the train which is such a deal considering the trains are usually at least 12-25 bucks a piece.

It does come on sprout I know. You might also check ebay..I bought a lot of used dvd's there once pretty cheap.

Our PBS channel shows it at 9 am on Sundays. And we also bought a fair amount of the videos which came bundled with trains......the price was $10 at BJ's Wholesale Club and was a great deal!! You may also want to look on Craig's List or eBay because once the kids outgrow them, there are usually lots of stuff to unload. We think we'll be unloading ours in another year as our youngest is starting to play with it less and less (he is 4).

It's on Thursday mornings here on PBS. I have the DVR set to record because I have a Thomas Fan also! He watches them over and over and over...

I got a couple sets of DVDs. I think they were 3 for $20. I also get a few books on CD for car trips when DS was in preschool from the Scholastic book orders. They had some good deals. You can also check the Scholastic web site to see if they have anything on sale, and www.couponers.com has coupon codes for lots of sites (even A Cherry on Top).

If you have Netflix, you can also rent a ton of them through there. My son likes to watch each one a few times & send it back to get a new one.

I've been able to pick up the VHS's at a consignment shop here for as little as $1 or $2, but I've quit collecting them and we usually check out a Thomas DVD or 2 from our local library each week.

Good one! I always forget about our library because it's 30 min away.
