Default Early Voting Starting in Nevada Today!

So I'll be voting today. I'll be thrilled to get my vote taken care of, but then comes the absolute worst part of the election...I've case my vote but still have to listen to the commercials!

We have a huge list of places we can go to. Some are temporary for a day, like grocery stores all over town. Some will be up until Oct 31st and you can vote anytime til then, mostly the mall or main library.

So do you guys have early voting? How does it work?

So...Like I've always said "Vote Early, Vote Often!" j/k

We have early voting here in Ohio this year. I don't want to vote early, just in case information comes available that might change my vote -- I don't see it happening, but its possible. Also, as I understand it, its sort of like absentee balllots, they get counted last and only if the election is close. I may be misunderstanding this process, but that was how I read it. I want my vote to count.

Is there somewhere on the web I can find the list of places for Vegas?

Are you serious? So... just because you vote early, your vote doesn't count? Or am I not understanding something here? I would think that any vote - absentee, postal, early should ALL count toward the final decision kwim?

Well, I'm serious, I'm just not sure if I am right. I was told by a very credible source -- but one that cannot be verified -- that all paper absentee ballots and early votes go into big boxes. They AREN'T counted ahead of election day, like would make obvious sense. Instead, election night comes and goes and if the winner is clear those boxes are never opened. Its really disgusting!!!

I voted early one year and I hate to sound silly but it was so anticlimactic. You stood in a little cubby and wrote in your votes, stuck them in an envelope and turned it in on your way out. I love standing in line to wait for your turn behind the curtain. The pressing of the button at the end is ridiculously satisfying for me!! I guess I am a big ol' election nerd!

We still have the electronic voting here, and they said on the news that they expect 50% of voters in Las Vegas to vote early. Kinda neato!

OK, I guess this is one of the things that varies by location. I'm almost 50 years old, have voted in every major election since I was 18 (I think,) and have never seen a voting booth with a curtain! too funny! To clarify: I've seen them on tv, but never in person!
