One DD is getting this for Christmas. I didn't get the deluxe version, though. The other will get an Easy Bake Oven and one of their aunts is getting them a snow cone maker. She's going to sleep over, and we are going to make and eat things all night.

I guess this is a step up from the light bulb heated easy bakes we used to get...they actually use a microwave to cook the cupcakes. I thought it looked like such fun for little girls. Made me wish I had one on my list to buy for.

You know, my DD asked about this last night at WalMart and after seeing it's on the hotlist, I just picked one up to stash for Christmas .

Both of my girls have been begging for this since they saw the very first commercial. I am still uncertain if I will pick it up or not. I have told them over and over again to ask Santa so it might just be under our tree this year.

I read the reviews at Amazon.com, and I would hesitate to buy it. It wasn't rated very well. Lots of complaints about mess, flavor, and that it only includes enough mix to make 4 small cupcakes. If I wanted something similar, I'd get an Easy Bake Oven. It's a classic that's been around for years and there's several sites with recipes to make your own refills.

Ohh, that is good to know. I wondered about refills, etc. I guess you could have kids make regular cupcakes in the microwave and then use the frosting machine...

Is there any concern over having a microwave in a child's toy?
