Play With Your Pixels ~ Round 3!! Gotta Pixel is looking for 6 wonderful people to join our family as site creative team members! We have decided that instead of doing a regular call, we would have a challenge to see how creative you can be! Those who are wanting to try out for the creative team will be given four challenges during the month of January, each one using a different Gotta Pixel designer's work, and each one asking you to play with the pixels in a specific way. There are no eliminations after each round, as we want to give everyone equal footing based on the whole instead of a part. After all 4 challenges are finished the designers will sit down and pick out their favorites and from there we will decide who will be joining the team. (If you were not able to order the kit for the first or second challenge, you are more than welcome to participate in this challenge! We are not requiring that you participate in all the challenges!) Creative team members get to play with a different designer's work each week. They are only required to create one layout a week, and all team members receive the newest Pixel Pack Collection for free! We have a wonderful Creative Team team leader and some very talented designers who really contribute to the digital community. Week #3 Challenge Sometimes less is more. Using Sarah Meyer's Snuggle Up Page Kit, we want you to show us how you can showcase the kit by using it in the most effective and dramatic way while still having a high degree of white space. Some example of what white space are... It doesn't matter how many images you use, or how many elements you use. You can journal if you want, but you don't have to. You do have to have at least 80-90% white space on your canvas though. You can only use the products that are found in the kit. Things like templates, elements, papers, overlays, actions, brushes, etc., that are made by others and are not in this kit are not allowed. You can use fonts and you can use shapes you have manually created (no templates or preset shapes) to create new elements. Broken down; if someone else made it, it can't be used unless it's a font. (Click image below to get to the challenge!!) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Gotta Pixel "Pixel Club" Want unlimited access to over 1,800 downloads?? Quick pages, mini kits, element packs and more?? Gotta Pixel's "Pixel Points" Program Beginning January 1, 2009, we started a new program at Gotta Pixel to inspire everyone and give back to you for all the hard work you put into the layouts you've created for our layouts. Completing challenges at Gotta Pixel will now earn you Pixel Points, which you can in turn cash in for a coupon to use on products in the Gotta Pixel store! How to earn Pixel Points At the first of the month the challenge hostesses will post the month's challenges and you will have until the end of the 25th (Eastern Standard Time) to complete the challenge. Layouts should be newly created specifically for the challenge, and the layout can not be recycled and used for another challenge. In every challenge thread, there will be a link to the gallery you should upload your challenge layout to. When you're done with your layout, upload it to this gallery and then come back to the challenge thread and post a link to the layout and the credits for the layout in the thread. You must post! If you don't we have no way to count your layout! If you do not link to your layout by the end of the 25th (Eastern Standard Time), it will not be counted. Anything posted after this date/time will not be counted. For more information and rules, you can go here and read full details!! You still have time to complete this month's challenges and earn some points!! |
