***Tip: when applying drop shadows to these alphas, I use a different layer for the shadow. In Photoshop, I right-click on the layer with the character and choose "Create Layer" to separate the shadow from the character. In Paint Shop Pro, you can choose to have the shadow on a separate layer when you are making the drop shadow. Then, I select the character (get those marching ants around it) and go back to the layer that is the shadow, and hit "delete" to get rid of the part of the shadow that lies under the character. This way, you get a soft subtle shadow around your character, but without darkening the character itself, due to its transparency!
