If I were recoloring, I would place the color I want in the foreground and go to wherever the Hue/Saturation is in PSE4, select the "colorize" box and move the sliders until it looks just right. Then sometimes you lose a little contrast in the process so I would go to Brightness/Contrast and play with those sliders a touch too. HTH! :-)

Another option is to create a new layer and fill it with a color you want and then play with the layer blending modes and opacity slider til you see something you like. Then delete the excess fill.

Click on the half black, half white circle at the top of the layers pallet and hue/saturation is one of the options.

You could also try the "Replace Color". It's under IMAGE ==> ADJUSTMENTS ==> in PS CS2.

If anyone would like the link to my tutorial that I wrote on this with PSE3 (applicable to the other versions I'm sure), please PM me....I don't have it available on my site for everyone as I have to keep some of them for the classes I hope to eventually open up, but I like helping people too and would be willing to share privately just to help you.

I found it needs an addition to it, but it is enough to help you.
