lot's of designer start of making some freebies and posting them on their blog

i'm not the expert, but you can look up some photoshop tutorials and try to find your way, start by making some papers, of some elements, and see if you like it.
I think great effort is made in making gorgeous kits, and it takes time to get to know the programs you are using...

I've been working with photoshop for years and years now, so I think I can work with this program very well.
I just have no idea were to start for making papers , except a white 300 x 3600 canvas ...lol...

Well if you know photoshop, it should be easy for you to make the transition. Use your imagination, play around, have fun. Try to make something similar to what you've seen and like (taking care not to copy outright) and ask for critiques as you go along. Enjoy, and if you want a great resource, I'd say join Amanda Rockwell's Inside the Scrap Artist Studio. You won't regret it.

a few years ago there were some fantastic tutorials from Tandika Star
I remeber subscribing to them, but all of a sudden the website was closed and well..I did not print the tutorials yet, so could not use them any more...
don't know if her lessons are still available or not... they were very detailed and good !!

There are several aspects to designing. You have the technical end, learning to make elements and papers. For that, Inside the ScrapArtist Studio by Amanda Rockwell is a great resource. Then, learn as much as you can about your program. Photography skills and learning about shadows will take you a long way to making realistic elements.

Then, there is the business side of things. My book (thanks Ripal) goes into all of that. Everything from getting started, to advertising and common mistakes. It does give you a few resources for learning to create kits too, but mainly focuses on building your business.

Would the e-book be good for those who use psp? Or is it more geared towards photoshop users?
