Default Ok.. so i don't really get it

I don't know many of you, and i was never poster at 2peas, although i did lurk there for the past 6 mos.

I have only been Digi Scrappin for a year and have a chance to kind of look at this community from the outside in. Alot of the people that are here are the who's who of digital scrapbooking .. you have the Gina Millers, the Jen Wilsons etc.. there are so many im not going to name any more names but those two were easy to spell. So why not utilize what you have, why not take these fabulous designers into your fold?? 2peas had the inside track on what could have been the best digital community out there. If you want to hang out with the stars you can hang out there. Im just not sure why they chose to alienate everyone.

I know that lot of paper companies are starting to make that transition into digital product, you see it popping up on their websites. why not embrace what already exists instead of casting it aside. How chuffed would said "digital designer" be to get a call from like basic gray to do exclusive digital design work etc.. But along with company brand digital kits also comes more expensive prices. where i would pay £1 for a sheet of great paper in a store i would never dream of doing something so silly in digital land. I know my local scrapbook store doesn't have a sale when her daughter graduates or when she just has a great day, and nothing ever goes into the £1 bin. So im still unsure how this corporate market can break into this arena. where there is tremendous variety and resonable prices.

in the digital world its all name recognition... it really is.. and thats what i really don't get.

2peas is really riding the fence and had the best of both worlds going on. they could have rode this tidle wave into the digital revolution.. So i don't get why they just chucked it out the door. Or maybe they just cant see past their own noses. So i don't get it. they were really set up to make a lot of money from this, and they just pissed it down the toilet..

~i spell like a 10 year old so read phonically~

Basically... yup!

I have been a member for years... very faithful member at that. With the light of recent events, I just don't feel the "need" or the "want" to be there anymore. It felt like "home", but now it just feels tainted. I think the whole situation is a joke and you are right in that they pissed evrything down the toilet! They could have made a ton of money.... DUH!

Hey, Jess, you are definitely right about that. In fact, your e-mail reads very similar to a post I made earlier today, either on here or on 2Peas, I can't remember, but it was almost identical to your comments. They had a GREAT thing going, pretty close to perfect...why ruin it?? I don't think we'll ever really know for sure.

Corina: Good to see you made the jump

i was never a poster at 2peas either, just a lurker. I think it's silly how they've handled things.

For as long as I can remember... at least 3 years... 2peas has been crazy about not mentioning 'competitors'. It seems to have just gotten worse lately... maybe because people are finally getting fed up enough to do something about it?

You ask some wonderful questions, Jess, but unfortunately, I don't know that any of them will really get answered. I've quit banging my head against the wall, though, now that we have this place to meet our needs.

It is unfortunate, for sure. I am sad to see that Pea1 left some questions up in the air, as always - it seems.

Mine is the first and last post on the thread Alert to Pea1 and as of yet, no further discussion.

I also feel like they are trying to drive the "competition" out when they could have just as well folded them into their business and possibly made a LOT of money. And what do I know about business?

But she's not able to do anything about the past, remember?

LOL @ you, Tania!

Especially over the last few years, things have been getting worse with the Dual Legumes. Never had what I wanted in stock (I stopped paper shopping there long before I went digi) and now the uber-control of the digi board. It's because when people lose or have no control in the area they are supposed to, they start micro-managing the areas they are not supposed to. Kind of like kicking the poor dog when you've had a bad day at work.

I don't understand their philosophy either.

I used to sew before I started stamping and scrapping. I frequented a MB for heirloom sewers sponsored by a popular magazine that also sold supplies online. It was a wonderful site with wonderful ladies on it. There were no restrictions about mentioning other companies or links.

People were constantly asking where they could buy things and people always gave them links and sale prices, etc. Sometimes it would be things that the MB sold and sometimes not. People loved the MB and company and always linked to the store, too.

It fostered great loyalty to the store and the owner and the magazine. People would buy their products and the store never worried about competition because they knew their stuff was the best and didn't mind if people shopped other places too.

It all reminds me of the Gimbal's/Macy's thing in that old Christmas movie--Miracle on 34th street. Everyone loved the generousity of the store that helped its customers and became very loyal and the store made even more $$$ than before!
