I have several LOs that have very old family pictures that were obviously taken by a professional (circa 1900) and I would like to have the LOs printed, but am wondering if anyone will print them? (I had taken them to OfficMax to do, but they wouldn't touch them, even though they don't fall under current copyright laws)

Here's another great argument for smaller album sizes so you can print those kinds of things at home. If you can find documentation for the date of the pictures you might be able to get it done...I'd ask for the manager though.

Costco makes you say that you are the copyright holder before you can upload the photos, but I'm sure that one you upload the layouts you would not have a problem printing it.

I made my daughter's High School graduation invites using some baby/child photos and her professionally done senior pic. I had them printed at Winkflash, no problems.

I've had them done at Sam's too. Walmart gave me a BIG hassle over some photos that I took, and didn't even blink at others that were obviously old professional ones... GO figure!

OfficeMax is very copyright conscientous (sp?), and will err on the side of caution.

You could ask Ashley at Polka Dot Potato what their policy is. I just had layouts printed there over the weekend and the quality is wonderful. I'm thrilled with the results!

I haven't had any problems at Costco. I'm doing a huge job with the photos from my sister's wedding (photographer signed over the rights) and they haven't questioned what I've sent so far.
__________________Walmart on the other hand......don't even try, they're HORRIBLE!! My sister had her printed ripped up by an employee. I've heard of this happening quite a bit- they must be told to do it. She was so upset she couldn't even speak to a manager at the time. |
