I'm wondering if something is wrong with my computer or something. Sometimes when I download kits I try and extract them and I get an error saying that the file is damaged or sometimes corrupt.
My internet is not "regular" DSL like through our land line phone company...I have one of those little Modems that plugs into a USB port through our cell phone provider (unlimited, thank goodnes, LOL)...Is that maybe the problem? Here is the very weirdest part of the whole problem...It seriously ONLY happens when I buy kits from two sites (so far...crossing fingers)...I've never had the problem when I buy from everywhere else that I have bought from. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem that can shed some light? For the record..I was using the regular program that came with Windows...then I downloaded WinRar...sill have problems. |

Here are a couple of 'sometimes'......
__________________~sometimes, the folder can be corrupt ~sometimes, you need to try firefox instead of internet explorer or chrome ~sometimes, you need to clean your computer (I highly recommend-- ccleaner, and it is free. It cleaned over 31,000M off my computer. )~sometimes, you need to disable firewall. Hopefully one of the above 'sometimes' works for you. Good luck. m |

I use interet explorer for most of my downloads. If I have trouble downloading, I frequently switch to Firefox and am able to download from it. You might try it.

Another thing can be that sometimes there can be a little hiccup in the download and there might be a tiny bit that doesn't get downloaded (because of slight disconnect or problem with your internet) and that corrupts the whole file even though it looks like the whole thing downloaded.

Here's my list of suggestions for customers who have trouble. Almost always it's related to a bad connection or browser issue.
__________________1. Reboot your computer and try again. 2. Try clearing your browser's cache/authenticated sessions 3. Install a download manager if your downloads are being interrupted 4. Download only one file at a time. 5. Try a different browser. IE is particularly troublesome for some users right now. Firefox and Chrome seem to have better results. 6. Unzipping issues can occur with Mac system files, especially you use the Windows Extraction Wizard. Try installing WinRAR (Mac and PC versions available) WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

A download manager will help with files that get interrupted, or you can schedule downloads to happen overnight when the "lines" are less busy. I'm looking into a recommendation for you.
