QOTD: What do you have to have on a layout?

What is the one thing (besides paper and photos) that you almost always use on a layout?

No really, I've done several layouts with just paper, pix and type. So that's all that's ESSENTIAL.

But I like to use ribbon lots

Rarely do I use anything except photos & type. 99% of the time I have to have a title... the 2 or 3 times I haven't used a title, it was because I had a phrase or something that I used instead.

I have only done 1 layout that had no photos, and instead I used an image that was a photo of some artwork I had done. So, I guess technically I've never done a photoless layout.

I've done layouts with just photos and words (but I made my own papers to match the photos). And I do a fair number of photo-less layouts. But I really like those almost 3D flowers. The ones that look like the fabric flowers. And I love curly ribbon or string. And buttons.

I always need a heart, no matter what kind of page it is, it is always a memory of love, so I have to put a heart in somewhere

Besides the paper and photos, there isn't any other one thing I have to have on a layout. Since I've done several layouts that are nothing but photo and paper, that would have to be it.

I usually need to add some flowers and if I am creating a cluster, I usually include a ribbon, string or some ric rac.

A flower, some greenery is always nice and I need a frame 99% of the cases. I stay away from kits with no frames or some tiny ones. The photo is most important to me and when I want to put it in a frame, I need a good-sized one.

A Flourish of some kind... It can be a simple swirl or glittery or jeweled... but I love there to be a flourish (and usually a fastener of some kind) I don't always need a frame for my photos... but I do like having a fastener (or even something I can make into a fastener of some kind)
