If you print your layouts, what do you print: single pages or photo books?
__________________I print single pages because I want photographic (silver halide) prints for their archival properties, and I like the look of traditional albums. But that's for my 'keeper' pages. For gifts, I do photo books! Quick and easy

in almost 7 years I printed 1 book and in the same amount of time I have printed over 500 layouts I switch mine out of the frames I have on my walls (sometimes). What is silver halide?

Silver halide prints are real photographic prints on photo paper, like you used to get when you developed your film, or you still get from a photo finisher. They are "200 year archival" meaning they should survive at least 200 years when stored properly. Can't say that about press-printed things like books or cardstock prints. All that work I want to be sure they're going to be around for the great grandchildren!

I do both.
__________________IF, it is for example, my DD's wedding album, or my dad's memory book, those go into an actual 'book-book'. From our various vacations and general pages of Christmas - graduations- etc, those are printed 12x12 and slide into albums. When the book fills up, I start another one. m |

I don't print much at all any more, just lazy I guess! I used to print everything at home & put them into 8x8 albums, but I just got further & further behind. Now I just enjoy looking at them on my computer screen, on my iPhone, my iPod, and online. I have created lots of slideshows.
__________________However, I do occasionally print them commercially- I use Costco because I love that I can upload them & pick them up a couple of hours later. Patience isn't my strong suit. I have yet to do a photo book- it's in the plan, just haven't done it. I remember an Apple photo book my nephew and his new bride had printed as a guestbook for the wedding a few years ago... after the wedding, the pages were completely smudged and messed up from all of the handling. I was surprised that the print quality was so poor that their keepsake looked like a disaster. I certainly hope the quality has improved since 2008. |

I did my 2009 P365 in a photobook, and I loved it so much I'm sticking with the books from here on out. They are so light-weight, not bulky at all, which really helps with the 12x12.

I print photobooks. No they don't have the archival quality of prints, but we can enjoy them now and who knows how our grandchildren will enjoy them. Technology changes so much...i just keep the .jpgs so I have them just in case. I love how much less bulky they are than my old paper albums.
__________________Stef, I would say you probably get what you pay for with quality. I'm sure quality has improved since 2008, but there is a big difference in quality (see TDD's review) |

I have gotten way behind on printing but when I do print I do the single pages. I like the "paper scrapping" look rather than the "book" look.

I've done both and am behind on both! For some reason I feel less overwhelmed with single page prints. I can move them around, and not feel so constrained to have a theme, or have the book make sense.
