A lot of really great stuff here, Cassel! I especially love the one about improper sizing... that doesn't get mentioned enough, and it drives me batty when I see it.

There are a couple of these that I break since I don't do 'paper like' scrapping... I occasionally float shadows, and I sometimes 'write' over the tops of things, but since I'm not trying to make my layouts look like 'buttons 'n brads', I think it generally works. But the one thing that drives me crazy above all, that you don't mention, is incorrect perspective. This is especially true for Fantasy scrappers, but I see it in other types of digi scrapping too. It's most apparent when there are 3D looking elements on a page, and the perspective doesn't agree. For example, there's an extracted shadow box with items in it on shelves, and the items are all different perspectives. I even see the 'masters' do it, so it isn't just the inexperienced scrappers. It's tough to get it correct, but it's something that just looks wrong to me!

Oh! And how about basic drop shadows on very 3D objects? Yikes!

Oh yeah... there are other things: flat shadows added on a 3D fantasy layout also. I just wanted to stop at 10 things! Maybe i can compile more and make a sequel!

This list is great! My pet peeves are shadows on text (Most of my designs are word art, so I'm very sensitive to this one!) and text across elements. But, in defense of scrappers everywhere, I've uploaded layouts only to discover thta in my hurry, I've done one or more of these myself!

Oh yeah, i am sure we have done that more than once. Often by accident. Working with layers, it is easy to rearrange something for one element without noticing that it affects another one on the other side. Missing shadows on an element could be due to the shadow layer being turned off temporarily.

Yeah, i might compile another list for a sequel so bring them on!

Awesome article!
Digi-scrapping seems so much easier because everything works on PC/Mac - not sticky, not so much space ... but beside knowing what to do in your program there is so much stuff one should be told about, because not everyone is a natural designer!!
