Default QOTD - all at once or bit by bit?

How do you scrap - do you sit down and do a layout from start to finish? Do you pre-plan and start your layouts so they're ready to work on when you have time? Or do you have more than one in progress at a time?

I usually scrap a whole layout start to finish, but ever so often I just get stuck on one. So I have a folder of half-done layouts I drag out once in a while, and sometimes they finally click.

I'm wondering if I would scrap more if I started layouts and dragged the photos on, chose a background, and had that ready when I had time to scrap?

Generally, I scrap my entire layout all at once. I occasionally get stumped, and I have a file like yours. But it has very few layouts... maybe only one or two for years of scrapping. Last year, though, I finished a layout that I had in that file for two years, and I ended up liking it a lot! So, in that case, I'm glad I saved it.

I rarely sit down to scrap unless I have the time to finish a layout. If I have a tiny bit of time, I'm more likely to finesse one I've already completed or nearly completed.

I usually go from start to finish. It starts with an inspiration of a title. I like my titles to be silly (I like to think they are clever) and that leads me in the direction of my page design.

If I get stuck, I close it down and put it away to revisit later, otherwise I finish it at the same sitting even if it takes hours and hours.

I tend to scrap a page all at once even though it might take several days to complete. I do have heaps of unfinished pages, though,- some I'm going to get rid of, but others I intend to finish.

These past couple of days I've been bringing all my layouts together in one big folder with sub-folders, and am amazed at how many need attention.

I normally scrap from start to finish--but sometimes something interrupts me. Since I'm normally a "one kit" scrapper, I'll put everything I "think" I'll use on the layout on the one piece of paper--name it the kit name-or designer name combo-add "2do" to the end of the name, and save it! When I go back to finish it up, I'll move the "stuff" around to where I want it, delete the things I didn't use, and save it with the real name. Then I'll delete the 2do file. It saves time not to have to open up the whole kit again.

I normally sit down to do a whole layout start to finish. However I have tons, okay well not tons but alot, of unfinished layouts because I am super critical of myself. I kind of like the idea of "pre-planning". I preplanned as a paper scrapper when I went to crops so I didnt have to take so much. I would put my photos, any inspiration pieces, and all my papers and embellishments in a two gallon zip lock bag and I was ready to go to it when I got there.

I'm all over the place. I have many partially completed LO's. Often I scrap inside my head and have a plan, yet it takes it awhile to get to the page.
Unless it is a CT , a specific challenge LO, or a promotion for a kit, I often kit mix.

I normally am a one-kit scrapper - and usually do it all in one sitting. Since a lot of mine is for CT work I need to use just that kit for the page. I rarely pre-plan - especially with CT work. I open the kit and look for inspiration - either in papers or elements. I may pull in a lot of papers and elements, then play around with them until the ideas ''jell''. Sometimes I know which photos I want to use... like the one I just did called 'Expecting'. I knew I have several photos of my granddaughter as she 'expanded' and some with the family soon after the baby arrived. So in that case, I pulled the photos first.

Other times, it is an adventure.... especially doing a progressive challenge. Never know what we will be adding. Lots of fun to get the 'unexpected' items.

I very seldom have a layout that doesn't work. Once in awhile I will put it back for a few days then take another look. Sometimes it turns out the background paper is not quite right.

I am a fast scrapper... can do several layouts in one day if the need arises [like it did this week]. Always busy the first of the month with challenges at the forums, new CT work, and/or special photos that have to be done ''right now''. Now that I have enough kits, I can usually find whatever I need so no running off to the store to find ''something'' like I did when paper scrapping. And... no mess to clean up afterwards. Love it....
