It kept shutting down on me. Id be in the middle of doing something and it would just close. I finally got a reply back from customer service though and I think they fixed it. I am really liking it so I am glad.

I have them by designer.
__________________But as with most things: Too much stuff makes life tough. My best friend is the delete button, delete what you don't need. If that kit folder gets too big to handle break it up into kits from a-b and so on.... ... I am not so fond of organizing I much rather ride it. So I regularly delete stuff I haven't used. I hold on to templates though. I organize the photos pretty accurately in an almost meticulous way. To me they are the stars not the kits. I use Picasa for tagging/viewing everything and on my external hard drive keep everything in folders organized by kit and then another folder for the misc. items such as ribbons, flowers, templates, etc.

Organizing is not my strongest trait; but I'm working on it! I have lots of scrapbooking folders in alphabetical order mostly by themes.
If there is a designer I know well and have a lot of her kits, I will keep all of them in a folder. For example, I am on a CT for 4MyBabiesScraps. I have a folder with this name that contains a separate folder for each kit and then the pages I have made are also in the designer's folder. Some of the themes I have are Baby fishing flowery (this is where I put kits that use mostly flower elements and don't have a real theme) traveling safari/zoo sports I try to keep the themed folders simple so when I am scrapping I know a kit about "softball" with be in the "sports" folder for example. The biggest folder is "Disney". In this folder I have another folder for each movie for easy reference and then I have a "Disney Scrapping" folder for items that are Disney but can be used for multiple characters and places. I also have folders for things that are not themed such as "Cardstock", "Alphas", "Words", etc. Hope that helps. You have to organize the way your mind works...meaning if you scrap using themes...use that to organize...if you prefer by designer, or color...whatever you are going to REMEMBER for later when it comes time to scrap! |

I have most of mine on my externals, but what I keep on my computer are current CT kits, and ones I buy within the past month. At the end of that month, things get transferred to my external.

I have my supplies in 3 main categories: PU, CU, to check.
__________________Then, in the PU and CU, i have a KITS folder, but also different types of supplies, like "flowers and vegetation", "ribbons and bows", "overlays", "alpha", and so on. If i want to find a specific element that might be in a kit (like a "feather"), i use SuperFinderXT. It is a free program that will search all the file names (it will also search IN the files, but for graphic supplies it is not a useful feature, although it is great for text doc). And the search is MUCH MUCH faster than any search function, even from Windows directly. Cassel tutorials for beginners and seasoned scrappers
