Default QOTD: Do you have an external HD?

I know alot of us have invested in external hard drives so todays question of the day is...

What brand external hard drive do you have? How big is it? Do you recommend it or another brand?

I have two of my own - a 500G Western Digital Passport for carrying stuff around and a WD desktop 2T for storage. Love them both. I get about 3 years on a portable, don't know about the desktop. Our other desktop HD (on our home network) has been in place about 5 years without a problem - though we do have it backed up just in case!

I have several - WD for travel, and "big" Iomega's and Verbatims - love them all! What I really want to say (I am a stuck record with this!) DON'T rely on just one.... daily there are tearful "lost everything" stories - even if they are reliable ANY HD can fail, you could bump, drop, have it stolen, its a pain, but you need at least two. Remember, nothing is "backed up" unless you have at least two copies of it.

I have four- a very small 125MG iomega for my layered layouts, a 500 MG WD Passport for my Time Machine, and two larger WD EHDs, I think one is 1 T, and the other is 500 MG. I have most everything backed up to two, but not all. I need to get busy.
