This has confused me ever since I figured out how to erase the background out of hole in a tag or brad or something like that.
__________________How many layers do you erase to get the most realistic look? I mean, if it were a paper layout, the tag or brad would be attached to the paper, so at least one layer should be erased, but do you do more after that? Here's an example of a page I recently finished: http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/...500&ppuser=467

I generally erase down to the top layer that it's going to be sitting on. In your case to the green frame.

I would have erased a hole out of the green frame like the eyelet was punched into that too

I erase all the way to the "main paper" (first layer of the page).

I would let the orange show through, 'cause you probably wouldn't punch the eyelet all the way through the ribbon!
