Default Giving up on the hunt for a perfect blog pic!

How do authors decide on a photo to put on their books? I am having enough trouble getting a photo for my blog! I had one that I thought was "me" but just ended up with comments by family and friends that it was "not the best shot of me". LOL. So I have come up with the perfect temporary solution until I can get a great avatar shot done!

Have a look at my blog:

And, if you are happy with your own avatar shot, have you got any bright ideas for how to get one you like?? (Other than handing the camera to DH and telling him to just keep taking photos in the hope ONE of them will be usable!)

Lynn - I LOVE the shot you chose to use.... it's so gorgeous! I think it's a perfect solution

I have no answers for you as my current avatar shot here was taken by me with DS2 lol....

DH tries his best, but I'm just not that photogenic apparently!

actually I find the best photos i get of me are the ones I take myself ROFL

The one on my blog for example {that one was done useing a tripod though}

I'm a bit nutty about takeing photos of me - if you leave a camera in my hands for long enough there will surely be some point where I turn the camera around and take a photo of myself - my tips for this kind of camera takeing is that you hold the camera Up as if it was looking down at you - look into the lens and push your chin out just a little {well if you're like me and want to avoid the double chin shot haha}

ohh and dont' be concentraing to hard that you forget to smile {I'm always doing that one hehe}

i've finally come to the conclusion, i don't need a PERFECT photo because i can always change mine out for a new one. way too much pressure to try to be perfect -- maybe you can handle that, but the perfect photo of me would mak e me buggy.

but i do like my current avatar one i took last week with my tripod. course it took me a couple days to remember how to get my camera OUT of delay mode once i finally accidentally got it into delay photo mode.
