well it would have to be my bestfriend this past Christmas we had no money what so ever after paying the bills & rent and having just moved in here, well my bestfriend surprised me and gave my kids Christmas they got a ton of stuff..I have no idea how I'll ever thank her enough for what she did it really meant the world to me.

My mom and dad gave us a ~bunch~ of money when we adopted...they did not quite understand what we were doing and why...but have come to love our lil pumpkin We could have never traveled to go and get him without that money.....

My mother came all the way to Washington State to be with me for three weeks before the birth of my son. I had a lot of preterm labour scares, and was terrified. So she dropped everything and came to be with me.

Last year while I was off work and going to school, my sister and mom got together and paypal'd hubby and I funds for grocery shopping for the month. And when hubby was laid off, a couple wonderful ladies here at DST each sent me a little gift.

I do want to share how awesome one of my friends is, I hadn't seen her in a quite a long while, after she had her son, we grew apart, and then when I got pregnant, we became a little closer, but she had moved about 3 hours away.

On the day of my baby shower, she knew that my family lived in another state and wouldn't be "showering" me with gifts and she knew that we were struggling with money for this surprise baby (my sweet baby Yorick), so she called me on her way to my shower and asked me if there were any big boxes at the shower. I said, "No, why?"

She showed up with my pack n' play, my travel system, 3 huge boxes full of clothes, and a Large Lansinoh gift basket. She said that someone had done something similar for her when she was pregnant and felt the need to pass it on and that she knew I really had no family but my friends to rely on.

I was so touched, I sat and cried for half an hour at my own shower! I will never forget that she did such a thing for me.

I just wanted to share!

I do love the green kit, but I don't mind if I was late on this RAK, I just liked the thread.

When we adopted my first child we didn't really prepare very well. I think we weren't sure it was really going to happen so we didn't invest alot. While we were gone my parents got furniture, painted the room, hung borders, and put up pictures. It was a wonderful gift and I was so glad to have a nice room to bring him home to.

Also a very good friend of ours left a whole bunch of toys right in the middle of the living room for us. Such good friends and family supporting us through our first adoption.

And I love the pink!

I would have to say that some of the nicest things happened to me, through this community, after our son died last Sept. I can't express to you how much I was touched by the generousity of ppl that had never met me, never laid eyes on me, and a lot didn't even know my name... but they gave. And they gave generously.

Thanks ALL of you... you know who you are. You have given in time, creativity, prayer. May all that you have done come back to you here, or when you get to Heaven.

The nicest thing someone has done for me is coming over to my house one day to watch my kids and on top of that let me go to the spa!

The nicest thing iv done for somebody is invite and few families from Tent City to our house for Christmas dinner!
