Thanks so much for letting me wear a crown today!
__________________ What an honor to join the "queen club" here! ![]() Ok, so here are my answers... 1. Aside from scrapbooking, what creative outlets do you have? I never thought I was a creative person until I found scrapbooking, but once I became a scrapper I realized that is how I am creative. Anything to do with photos and words really makes me happy!. I have over 100 framed photos in my house on my walls and shelves. I just love pictures! I also love the computer and I ran my own website for 5 years. That was a fun creative outlet for me. Now my blog is one of my biggest creative outlets. I'm a writer at heart so my blog gives me a chance to write every day. I used to sew a lot but I don't do it much anymore. I've tried to learn crochet but I have decided that I really don't enjoy it and I really stink at it! ![]() 2. What is your favorite thing to wear? I'm all about comfort! I'm happiest when I'm in my jammies, which are actually a pair of surgical scrubs like nurses wear. 3. What is your least favorite household chore? So many to choose from! I think cleaning the bathroom is my least favorite. Does anyone like doing this?! 4. Share your "designer story". How did you get started? Well, like many digi scrappers I started out thinking like, hey, I could put dots and stripes on papers, I should do this! so I put together a few freebies that pretty much were "garbage" now that I look back on them. I quickly found out that there is a WHOLE lot more to the designing thing and I decided it wasn't for me.I did start putting together an "idea book" type of series that I had wanted to do for several years. This became the "Amazing Month of Memories" class series that I still sell at A Cherry on Top. It originally started out as a book project, but I really wanted scrappers to be able to access all the internet links that went along with the ideas so it really needed to be an online thing. There are downloadable class files for each month of the year. Basically, there is a holiday or something to celebrate and inspire at least a few scrapbook pages on every calendar day of the year! There are also monthly themes so I put them all together and included links to fonts, quotes, and informative articles that go along with each idea. It is sort of a hard thing to explain, but I have had nothing but positive response from my customers. Many write to me to tell me how "blown away" they are by all the inspiration which makes me so happy! After I got the series going, I realized that there were many types of digital scrapbooking products that I could envision that would go wonderfully with the ideas in the classes. So I started working on some quote packs and then it kind of blossomed from there. I took my time getting into design and really invested a lot of time into learning good principles and techniques. Now it is something that I realize I always have had in me! I'm always thinking about new designs and ideas. ![]() I've recently opened shop at The Digi Shoppe also so I'm selling there and at A Cherry on Top. I'm currently working on a lot of word art which is what I consider to be one of my "specialties" and probably my favorite thing to design. 5. Who is YOUR favorite designer right now? Oh, that is so hard to answer! I love so many different designers! If you look through my gallery you will see how many different styles I use in my layouts, I do A LOT of digi shopping! !Can I name just a few of my favorites? Jen Wilson is one of my all time favorites. I seriously love everything she does! Since I'm such a big fan of word art, I would have to say that Maya at Scrapbook Graphics is one of my favorites. Love her funky word art! I love to do multi picture layouts so I adore Nancy Comelab's photo clusters and also Heather Ann's Quick Fill pages Really pretty patterned papers are also another weakness of mine so I love Mindy Terasawa, Miriam Lima, Shabby Princess, and Michelle Coleman And I have to say that I am just blown away by the talent of the designers at The Digi Shoppe! I love seeing what gets uploaded there everyday because there are so many fun goodies! Thanks again for letting me be royalty today!
