I just posted a blog that you may want to read if you are dealing with or are looking down the pipe at deployment. I normally don't post things like this but I just want to say that my SOLE reason for posting this is, I hope that something I have said will help someone along the way. Thankfully for me it is almost over, but I wish that somewhere along the lines someone would have told me that what I was feeling was okay. Anyways, I just wanted to post this here so that you all could take a look if you want. And please remember that I hope that I have said something that will help and/or be a comfort to you.

Wow girl I think I wrote something very similar on my blog almost a year ago when DH was almost home. I felt everything you felt, I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm so glad this is almost over for you. I will never forget the feeling I had when I got that phone call and he said "I'm on my way home"....it was the best feeling in the world.

Huge HUGS to you!! I've been there and we'll never do it again! My dh was deployed for a year to Iraq when my boys were3.5, 2 and 6 mos.
__________________I have to say - we were closer for having gone through it, I grew a lot more independant, and I got spend time with my mom and youngest brother and sister. (I moved home while he was gone and my brother and sister were 14 and 16 at the time.) I hope that the transition back to being together is an easy one! |

As a military mom, I understand what you're saying. Its such a huge relief when they're home. Take care and take time for your reunion.

We certainly give thanks to those that serve ... but you (the collective "you") also deserve props for what a spouse gives supporting our military men & women.
