Default Should I be ruthless?

My main laptop has been running slower and slower lately, and I'm sure it's because of all of the digital goodies I've been buying for the past few months!

Last Friday, I copied all of my digi stuff to an EHD. Most of that has been burned to DVDs.

Now, my question is: Should I delete the stuff from my main laptop that I haven't used yet or haven't used for a long time? The files are in at least two other places, and I'd really like to get my laptop going faster! I've run spyware and virus scans, so I'm clean there...

Any opinions? All are welcome!

If it is all backed up elsewhere, definitely do it. I personally only keep my CT stuff on my laptop, everything else is kept on my EHD.

oh yes! i did that a couple months ago, and wow, you can't believe how many bytes i had of slide mounts. you may also want to uninstall some of your less frequently used fonts? my thousands of fonts were causing my system to grind.

as long as you've got it backed up to more than one spot then yep do it.

it'll also be a good idea to defrag your HD after deleting and cleaning out your recycle bin, that should speed things right up again.

it also might be worth investing in a registry repair/cleaner program because Windows can become a bit wonky over time and a registry cleaner/repairer will give your HD a tune-up and make everything work faster again.
