Default Classes

I am considering taking some classes to improve my skills in PSE. I have looked around and think I may enroll at Digital Scrapbook Place. Thier deadline for January has passed so I have some time to make up my mind.

My questions are:
Has anyone taken their classes? Likes/Dislikes?
Are there any other sites that offer a wide variety of organized classes?
If so, how are they?

This is how I learn best and I like the format that the syllabus seems to follow. I have followed some tuts that I have found online, but I have always done better in a class type setting. I took a few of the classes at Scrapaffair this year and LOVED it!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!

Hi Melissa!
I have never taken a class at Digital Scrapbook Place so I can not comment on them.
However, I have taken 2 classes with Jessica Sprague. An intro class to PSE and then a intermediate class. I would highly recommend them. In fact, Jessica just posted the new schedule for her classes in 2008. Check out her site.

I thought they were both great classes and I learned alot.

I am currently signed up to take a DSAG class in January - Intro to Layout Design. I have heard lots of great things about this class and I am really looking foward to starting! A list of classes offered through DSAG can be found at this link.

I hope this helps!

Good luck!
Dawn

Check out the classes being offered at Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild. They are actually sold through NDISB, but are being offered by DSAG instructors.

I took a bunch of classses for PSP at DSP, and for the most part was happy with them. I think the DSAG classes are every bit as good, and I thought the instructors really pack in extra information throughout the class.

I'm taking a new class being offered by Mary Jameson on creating paper and elements - she offers a PS and PSE version. I'm not taking it so much to begin designing myself, it's just Mary is so good at blending and creating stuff out of other stuff that I can't wait to take it. I loved her Montages and Eclectic Layouts and really learned so much taking it.

I took a few photo editing classes at www.eclecticacademy.com and really liked the information I got. Each class was 6 weeks with a PDF lesson that you could print out. Their prices are reasonable too. I'm not sure what they offer in the way of scrapbooking classes as I was only interested in fixing my photos at teh time, but I do know they have all kinds, even some business related classes if I remember correctly.

I offer scrapbooking classes that are taught by Christy Haig through my site. She teaches in both PSE and PSP. Is that what you're looking for?

I've taken several of the PSE classes through DSP and was generally very pleased with them. My only gripe was that (at the time--may have changed by now) the instructions included in the literature were all for PSE 4.0 and lower while I was using PSE 5.0. The class materials are very detailed. I printed them all out and saved them in notebooks which I frequently refer to. The instructor was also very helpful and answered questions quickly and professionally.

I have all my tutorials up for free--I use PSE.

I am working on video tutorials and a subscriber area to host all of those, but some can be found on my site now.

What I want to offer is learning when you are ready...not waiting for a class to start. You can come and read the tutorials or watch the videos at your pace when you are ready.

I just need to get more videos done!
