Journaling Reads: All day long on Mother’s Day I asked Daddy to take pictures of me with the three of you, but this one is my favorite. Not just from Mother’s Day, but from the whole year. It tells a story of who we were on Mother’s Day 2007. It was taken after we got back from brunch with Grandma. We were all piling out of the mini van, grabbing gift sacks, clamoring for water, shirt tails untucked, pants rumpled. I asked Daddy to, “please take one more picture?” So before we went into the house, we settled down on the porch steps, and stopped time with the camera. A moment later we were up and off, getting our keys, going into the house and on with our day. But, for a moment you sat with me on the porch steps and Daddy took this picture…for me…for Mother’s Day…because I asked him. There is only one thing I might consider trading this photo for. That would be one more chance to wish my own mother a Happy Mother’s Day…but no, I don’t think I could even let it go for that. I love you all, Mommy.
