Journaling Reads: When we were planning the celebration for Michael’s 42nd birthday, Kenneth was still reading his Christmas book from Grandma Mac, Dino Poop. The back of the book outlined several fun activities, one of which was how to make “amber” out of Jello and trap gummie bugs in it. Kenneth determined right away that this was just the sort of birthday cake his Dad would love! So we layered orange jello with a touch of sprinkled cocoa for dirt, and lots of gummie worms and bugs. Then we stuck a candle in it. It was interesting. No one finished their serving, but it was a lot of fun to make and it looked really cool! Next year we’ll probably go back to Daddy’s favorite, Key Lime Pie! February 6, 2007
