Thank you Whitney for sharing your precious life with us and giving us so much joy, fun and companionship for 13 years. We wish that it could have been longer, because you were such a sweetheart and a wonderful companion. I truly believe that you were meant to be in our home and that our lives were brought together because we needed each other.

Yes baby, you were the Queen of Stuff. You were your Daddy’s Baby Girl, Baboushka, little Black and White, Belly Flapper and Baby Baboo. You were your Momma’s Pumpkin-kitty, Snaggletooth, Missy Kitty and Boo-boo Baby. And let’s not forget, our little Whitney Houston, Battery Baby, Scowler, Squeaker, Bottle Cap Baby, Pen Kitty, Walker – Texas Kitty and little Nose Biter Baby.

I’m sure there will be lots of pens and pencils for you to move around and big old catnip sacks for you to fall asleep on at the Rainbow Bridge.

You used to bite my nose whenever I picked you up at first. It took about 18 months before you finally trusted me enough to stop doing that ~~ Every time we would sneeze, you would answer us with a meow more like a scream (thus your name, Whitney Houston). We always felt if we just sneezed enough, you would eventually talk ~~ Your little face was in a perpetual scowl, but we knew better ~~ And that funny little kink in your tail, we wondered how you got it ~~ Our little alarm clock, making the rounds in the morning, walking back and forth across the bed until we got up and fed you. You weighed 20 lbs with each step ~~ You would lay down with your head stuffed in your dish and your paws wrapped about it while you ate ~~ How many times did you come up from the basement with cobwebs hanging from your whiskers? ~~ Every year we would put up the Christmas Tree and you would sleep in the exact same place the whole time it was up ~~ The arm of the sofa was a favorite spot, facing the kitchen, with one leg hanging down the side ~~ You had one of those droopy kitty bellies and when you’d run down the hall we’d laugh at how it swung back and forth ~~ We’ll keep your little mat on the bottom of my baby highchair, and probably keep dodging you as we walk over the spot where you used to lie in the doorway from the kitchen to the living room. Funny how you always made sure you were right in the middle and completely in the way. I used to feel you cuff at my ankle when I walked by, like I was infringing on your space. ~~ And of course we can’t forget your trademark. There were the pens, pencils, bottles of white out, milk bottle caps and rings, X-acto knives, batteries, eyeglass spray cans, glue sticks, glue pens, Compound W tubes, sponge daubers and my favorite Creative Memories scrapbooking tool among of host of other small, usually round articles that would find their way from tables and counters and couches and beds to the living room rugs, hallway and bedroom rugs during the night and while we were out of the house. As you carried each one to their intended spot, you howled and cried until they landed on their target with a soft clunk. Unless of course, you dropped them on the basement stairs, when they would roll down the stairs to the bottom, one by one, waking us in the night. They were your prey, and you were very proud of your capture of each one of them.
