Chip’s 1st birthday party: that crazy Dr Seuss cake Dana baked, Tony & I had written & designed a book for him to chronicle that big miracle in his life, all the little ones running around, clusters of people huddled, chatting & laughing. We came Home &enjoyed as a family, an impromptu bedtop Picnic supper of Rotisserie chicken, warm brie, baguette & pickles. Had a lovely & emotional chat with Melinda. Within a few hours, I would be in the ER with sudden onset symptoms of h1n1. I spent the weekend in Hannah’s bed, isolated from the family, with Mom’s double vanilla custard & Jula Cameron‘s Novel, Mozart’s Ghost. Emily baby-sat the boyz & Bethany & Trevor invited Tony to dinner. Quiet before the storm. By the time, Monday rolled around, I was feeling better but still very weak. I almost cancelled my long-standing appt. with Dr. Hamid. BUT I decided to go anyway. I was only in the office 10 minutes before he was sending me to the hospital. Seems my tongue was crooked. All bits of memories of the days...

Life was about to change directions, take us off the map we were using and into brand-new unknown territory.
