Tell us about your family.

Well, there are a bunch of us. I have 4 girls (14/8/7/6) and 1 boy (3). Joe (the DH) and I have been putting up with each other’s shenanigans for 9 years now, and I have to admit all of them are pretty darn amazing.

How long have you been designing?

I have been designing for 6 years.

What inspires you?

Pretty much everything is inspiring in some way. The light bulb kicks on spontaneously and at some of the weirdest things too. I can’t point to just one main thing, because one week it can be the weather, next it could be a rock.

What do you see as the next trend in digital design?

Digital has become much more than scrapbooking, but more about the art. Many still do memory keeping, but the designs are also used for so many other types of crafting, it is amazing really. I haven’t a clue what the next “big thing” will be, but it will be interesting to see what craft inspires it to come to digi.

What is your most recent finished project?

Well by the time this publishes it will be complete. icon smile Meet Our January 2013 Featured Designer: Sweet Digi Scraps However, December is the Advent and 12 days event that I host on my blog. It is where I give back to my followers and supporters by gifting something new each day. It’s a pretty large project, but definitely my favorite thing to do.

What project are you working on now (or next)?

I don’t want to fully give it away, because it’s still in beta phases right now. However, I have been doing a lot more hybrid and have some plans on incorporating my designs into that more as well.

What is your biggest tip for balancing design time with your personal scrapping time?

I use Google Calendar and map out all my work time. It sends little reminders to me when something is due or I have time picked out to do a particular design, etc. I set aside time to scrap each week to just enjoy and catch up on scrap albums. Then, if I finish a design in less than the time I scheduled for it, I use the remainder of that to scrap as well.

What’s your favorite snack to have handy while you design?

Munchies!! Seriously- the cheesy Chex goodness stuff. It is my go-to because it has a perfect balance of sweet and salty.

What is your favorite quote?

“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

If you could change one thing about this world, what would it be?

I would get rid of the 7 deadly/cardinal sins. Whether you are religious or not, there would be world peace and happiness if we could just get rid of the possibility of any of those 7 things happening.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you make your home?

I have actually given a lot of thought to Alaska, Colorado, or Montana. They are just gorgeous areas full of nature and wildlife.

I discovered Liz’s kits at Scrap Take Out in the early summer … when I saw a CT call, I almost talked myself out of applying … but I am SO glad that I didn’t. I have worked with approximately 45 of her kits, and always wait impatiently for the next one ! She is the best in my book! Very active with her CT, always complimentary! I know we’d be best friends if she just didn’t live SO far away from TEXAS!

So excited to finally see this lady featured. Her products are top notch and a pleasure to work with. The thing about Liz, she inspires and involves people around her to create, and drops anything she is doing to help you out. It has been a joy and honor to work with her beautiful kits off and on for 6 yrs. and I have been thankful everyday that she picked me to be on her team so long ago. Her creations simply get better and better. She works very hard…and makes my heart big to see her finally featured…she deserves it. Even if I had to fight Poki for her, she’d love Idaho better. ;) ~~

I have known Liz and have met Liz on several occasions. She is as amazing as she sounds in this interview. She is a great designer and a great person! I still have some of her first kits that she put out before she even thought about designing. I have been a fan for along time.
