The annual celebration of digital scrapbooking is almost here! Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD) on November 3 will bring fantastic sales, chats, challenges, contests, and more. Are you ready? Do you know how much you will spend? What will you buy? Kits, commercial use (CU) products, templates, or something else? We asked DST members to share their DSD plans with us and here are the results as of October 21:
What is your DSD budget this year?
In the first non-scientific poll, we asked about DSD budgets and got responses ranging from, “I have set myself a limit of $100 [US], but I can’t resist a bargain, so there is every chance that I will go over that limit!” from shaz515 to “I like to cruise for the freebies, and BOY do I get a LOT!” from Joanne K. Several respondents said they planned to spend whatever is in their PayPal accounts.
Where do you fit? Will you be cruising for freebies and searching for bargains or will you be more like Jill who said, “Oh boy! DSD and iNSD are dangerous days for me…..I’m a kid in the candy store! Morning coffee in hand, I begin to scroll down the list of my favorite stores with my favorite designers and spend the morning hitting Add to Cart?
According to current poll results, about 40 percent of respondents plan on spending between ten and thirty dollars (US). Eighteen percent have an undetermined budget and another 13 percent will spend between zero and ten dollars (US). We want to know your planned budget for DSD. Tell us by taking our poll.
What will you buy on DSD?
Have you got your eye on a certain type of product? What products will fill your shopping carts this year? DST asked members to share their answers in our second non-scientific, multiple-answer poll.
Commercial use products and all-purpose kits lead the pack followed by fonts, actions, brushes, presets and scripts. These are followed by heritage/vintage, Christmas/winter holidays, and boy/man kits.
I know I plan on buying lots of commercial use products and a few kits for holidays. Here are a few comments from DST members who took the poll:
- Lindabglw said, “I’ll be looking for specific things that I have photos for, like a kit to scrap my daughter’s volleyball photos. I’ll also be on the lookout for great multi-photo templates. I can never have too many templates!”
- Marylc responded, “I am particularly interested in supplies that work for heritage photographs. I am trying to assemble a family book showcasing the images that I inherited a few years ago. I also have a large extended family and scrap today’s digital pictures as well.”
Some DST members simply look for bargains on DSD. MrsPeel said, “I voted Other, mainly because I look for all kind[s] of stuff.. [and] like looking for a good price, and, above all, original, themed stuff or kits/elements packs that have something that I don’t yet have. I think the key is a bargain.”
Some members will be looking for products for specific projects. Honey.B wants Project Life kits while a couple of members are looking for calendar templates. Ouisiekelly will be on the lookout for fonts. “I am always in search of beautiful and unique fonts,” she said.
