We asked Lisa a few questions:
What inspired you to create this month's DST Gold Member kit?
I love Halloween. The move into fall, and the scare factor of it. I like to add a little bit of quirk into my designs.
What is your favorite part or element of the kit?
The doodles, or maybe the googly eyes.
Tell us about your family
I have a very large family. Well, I guess you could call us supersized. I have 14 kids (all of them are mine and dh, and yes I birthed every single one of them) With one of my daughters getting married last year, we are now adding on in a different way.
How long have you been designing? What program(s) do you use?
I have been designing for close to 10 years now. I use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
What part of designing comes easiest to you (themes, colors, papers, elements?)
It depends. Sometimes I have an amazing idea and the elements come to life before the papers. Usually I love to create papers first, though.
What part of designing is most challenging to you?
Finding a good stopping point. I always think of "just one more thing" I need to add.
What inspires you?
Everything inspires me. Colors, magazines, pinterest, packaging, you name it.
If you’re running low on design mojo, where do you go to kickstart your creativity?
My kids. I always ask them for titles of kits. Let me rephrase, my daughters come up with great titles, my sons are as helpful as a rock.
What is the latest you’ve ever stayed up to finish a design or scrap?
I have pulled a couple of all nighters to meet deadlines that appeared out of nowhere.
What magazines do you subscribe to (scrap & non-scrap related)?
Cloth, Paper, Scissors
Slippers or barefoot?
Favorite tv show?
