I love spring with all of the beautiful flowers blooming and sweet colors springing up…so when I was thinking about the month of May, that’s really what inspired me to create About a Bloom… Lots of flowers, soft colors and spring goodness.

What is your favorite part or element of the kit? 

I found the sparkly butterfly one day at a thrift shop and fell in love with it. I thought it would be perfect for this kit, just the right amount of spring glitz.

Tell us about your family:

I am married to Jeff and I have two daughters, Jordan (10) and Jenna (3). Yes, we are a “J” family!

How long have you been designing? 

I opened my first shop on April 22, 2010. Prior to that I worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world, but since having my youngest daughter, I’ve been lucky enough to stay home and be a full-time digital scrapbook designer.

What program(s) do you use? 

Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Illustrator CS5

If you’re running low on design mojo, where do you go to kickstart your creativity?

Pinterest has been a huge help lately in helping me find my mojo – a great source of inspiration for all kinds of things!

What has been the greatest compliment you have received about your designs? 

Honestly, I love when I see people use my designs to capture their memories in their scrapbook pages. That’s the highest honor, to know that someone loves your designs that much.

What is your most recent finished project? 

I’m currently wrapping up a kit about one of my favorite things, Lilacs.

How much time do you allocate to designing in a typical week?

 I don’t really track it, but I’m always on the computer, since it is right next to me in the living room. I know I definitely spend more time working now than I did when I worked full-time! Good thing I love it so much!

What is your biggest tip for balancing design time with your personal scrapping time? 

This is probably my own personal biggest challenge! I have always been an avid scrapper, I used to be on so many creative teams and easily spent hours working on my own layouts. Since I started designing, I have found that I don’t scrap as much and I really miss it! I do try to scrap with my own products and also stay on a couple of creative teams so that I have a deadline of sorts.

What’s your favorite snack to have handy while you design? 

Tropical Starburst

What book are you reading right now?

 I just finished The Hunger Games and will probably start the second in the series this week.

What is your guilty pleasure? 

Reality TV, Chips and Salsa, Sangria

Where is the farthest you have been from home? 

I was born in Germany and was lucky enough to travel there in 2008 and visit where I was born and lived until I was about two. (I live in Wisconsin, USA).

If you could have one super power, what would it be? 

I’d love to be able to fly.

What was it about you that first drew your significant other to you? 

Probably my sarcasm.

At the end of the day, how do you want to be remembered?

As a good wife, mother, person who loved and was loved.
